For immediate release

Castries, February 21, 2012 - Their Royal Highnesses Prince and Princess Edward, Earl and Countess of Wessex, will be in Saint Lucia during the celebration of her 33rd Anniversary of Independence.  As part of their official visit Their Royal Highnesses will pay a visit to St John Association of Saint Lucia.

Her Royal Highness, the Countess of Wessex is the Grand President for the Priory of England and the Islands – a post which holds a huge responsibility in raising the profile of St John and supporting its 43,000 members who give over 5 million voluntary hours and treat over 100,000 casualties every year.

To mark this significant occasion Her Royal Highness will officially launch our new website: www.stjohnstlucia.org and the re-launch of St John in Saint Lucia along with our Caribbean First Aid Programme.

Everyone has knowledge about something or knows how to do something many people don't. This website will be used to inform and educate others of the many ways they can be a difference, at work, at home or at play.

We at St John believe that it’s absolutely unacceptable that people die needlessly – because no one could give them first aid when they needed it.  This tool will be one of the additional support methods we will be able to help persons be better informed as to correct protocols and procedure in saving lives.
